In layers

This is what I wear to survive 0°C London just to avoid any kind of down coats or jackets. Here I have 5 layers. Long sleeved knit, cashmere vest, wool cardigan, cashmere hoodie (wearing it almost every single day) and wool coat. Because I was so wrapped up like a snowman, I managed to walk out with a just silk scarf for a bit of color.

The colour block brights from SS2011 are lingering on as jewel coloured luxe in FW2011. Not to be neglected is the all time favorite of fall winter: Black, returning in lace, sheer inserts, leather bondage, wet look. Truly provocateurs.

Alexander McQueen Resort 2012

I love how the McQueen collections are always opulently romantic. Although Sarah Burton describes the Resort 2012 collection as "Romantic utility", the utilitarian military cottons are instantly swept up a notch with all that defined tailoring, delicate crotchet lace and gold embroideries.
