Obsession du jour: Celine Sunglasses

Celine Audrey Large Sunglasses in grey

FALL SUNNIES. These shades are from the Celine Spring 2011 collection, but the colours are so perfect for fall aren't they? I especially love the Original Sunglasses. It's official, WhoWhatWear just named them the 'hottest shades around. Period.' and I can't agree more. I have been frantically searching for more info on these sunnies for weeks but I had no idea what the name is so it was rather unsuccessful, after all if you search 'celine sunglasses' on Google a million things come up.

Anyway, now these sunglasses are getting the amount of attention that they deserve, in magazines, in blogs, on celebs... and they are flying out of the stores! I visited the Celine store yesterday and on the wall for sunglasses there were nothing but two pairs of sunnies and only one pair of Original Sunglasses (in military green by the way, lovely colour). However fret not, I think only a particular colour or material is limited, and according to the sales lady at Celine they will be restocked soon. So if you are interested in these chic sunnies be sure to look out for them!

Obsession du jour: Lady Dior Handbag Saga

 Images courtesy of Marion Media.

LADY DIOR. Dior has launched a big campaign since last spring of different Lady Dior bags in different cities with various colour themes. Lady Gray, which is the most recent one features Marion Cotillard on the London Eye overlooking the mist veiled city.

The whole saga started from Lady Noir Paris, Lady Rouge New York, Lady Blue Shanghai and last but not least Lady Gray London. I do have a question though why aren't the last two ladies named in French like the previous two? Lady Bleu and Lady Gris are pretty self explanatory if one does not know French. Anyway, this Lady Grey bag (in patent leather maybe?) is pretty mesmerizing with it's unique colour and unconventional leather shoulder strap.

Each one with it's own short film, the Lady Gray one will be released in November. Short films are very widely produced in fashion these days, like Vanessa Bruno's Le Bel Eté, Céline's Perfect, Comme des Garcons' Wonderwood, Prada's Swing Sunglasses, Louis Vuitton's Hide and Seek just to name a few, as well as other in house films from Tod's, Dolce & Gabbana, Victoria Beckham and many more.

Thanks to the technology and increasing accessibility, mini flims for fashion campaigns are made possible and is a great way to express creative impressions with the lowered cost, since airing these 'mini films' as television commercials would be rather costly and would not even achieve a certain reach. These short films bring the audience flights of fancies into dreamy vistas by just clicking onto the houses' website, Youtube, or even just by viral sharing.

Obsession du jour: Girls Just Want To Have Fun

80's. Volume hem dresses, leopard print PJs, lace gentleman's hat, oversized shirt with poufy skirt, big chunky accessories. This video is pretty fashion forward or maybe what goes around really just comes around in fashion.

Obsession du jour: Trompe L'oeil Tights

TROMPE L'OEIL. I have been meaning to do more posts on trends, obviously lots of trends to cover even though I'm just gonna do the ones that I like haha (and also finish the second half of faux fur) but there are just so so so many obsessions du jour these days, yup that's the shopaholic inside me you're hearing.

Ok so back on track, although  New Yorkers go bare legged in winter, most of us survive with tights, lots of tights. Today's obsession is tromp l'oiel tights, meaning 'trick for the eye' tights. Or should I say just say tromp l'oiel suspenders...

These eye tricking suspenders are as sexy as the real ones, but with a dab of fun and a little less provocative. Also meaning they're for easy pairing, coz you know not wearing suspenders or hold ups carefully can shoot you down the wrong path, very wrong if you know what I mean. ;-)

Chain Link Suspender TightsBandana Over The Knees Tights by Henry Holland and Suspender Net Tights from Topshop. Heart Suspender Sheer Tights and Jonathan Aston Mock Suspender Tights both from ASOS.)

Obsession du jour

BLUE VELVET. All of a sudden I have a new item adding to my fall wish list.

Image courtesy of Style Scrapbook and Mr. Newton. I adore these platforms, the blue is beautiful, a little bit like the midnight sky. So plush too!

After a bit of researching, turns out these lovelies are from River Island. Unfortunately they don't do overseas orders. =(

That reminded me of this picture I saw quite a while ago from Jak & Jil, for some reason I loved this picture a lot. The colours work so well together, so do distressed jeans and elegant Louboutins.
