Everbeen

Acne dress, Mulberry bag, Zara boots

Everbean 30 Avery Row London W1K 4BB

A coffee sesh with good friends is in order on a gloomy (and slightly chilly) Sunday. Everbean is a quiet oasis tucked in the corner of Avery Row near New Bond Street, serves perfect flat whites. I also had a fun time looking at people who hurried past.

Tory Burch Spring 2011 Preview

SPRING 11. The other day I went to the Tory Burch Spring 2011 preview in IFC Mall Hong Kong. The collection consists of vibrant reds, yellows and greens as always, but this time together with a mix of nature and nautical vibe, with animal patterns and a touch of navy blue.

J'adore this chunky plastic necklace, the plastic pieces are silhouettes of swallows.

This new Robinson Satchel in yellow is lovely too, the top handle and shape makes it very different from ordinary satchels. Featured in Harper's Bazaar, Poppy Red and Cricket Green available on Tory Burch.

Not a big fan of brights, so this outfit became my favorite out of the lot. Together, all that golden tweed, dots and wavy patterns do not seem too much at all.

Neon orange in unanimity with the rainbow brights Spring 2011 trend.

Another Spring 2011 trend, the flatforms, also sported in Chanel and Prada. Yay or nay?

A little resemblance with the Céline box bag and Hermès Constance?

Wooden wedges, tan soft buttery leather, perfect for a relaxed spring day.

Some Monday late lunch

REFLECHIR. Finally I had some time to stop and think, finally I gave myself a work free week (and felt terribly guilty afterwards). My friend and I went to a restaurant in LKF on Monday, she does a great F&B blog by the way. Disregarding the fact that we had to climb up a few steps, well maybe more than a few, she wore 4" heels, oh the sacrifices women make for fashion... and food.

The Shiny Slash

SLASH. I bought this gold slash ages ago without knowing what to do with it, I guess black and neutral tones are fail proof.

maxi dress project

I have been looking for a tie dye maxi dress for the summer but I couldn't find the perfect one. So then I thought a maxi dress isn't too hard to make is it? Considering i have a sewing machine (I don't really know how to sew though, oh well.)

So I set out for ShamShuiPo for the perfect fabric. I cannot use anything that stretches because the machine doesn't do that kind of stitching, so I went for silk.

This is the piece of fabric that I bought. The texture and thickness is what I wanted, but the colour was not.

So I dyed the whole thing first and then started tie dying.

This is how you do a spiral pattern. You grasp the middle of the fabric and then twist it until bit becomes a circle, then tie it tightly with elastic bands. Then you can either immerse it in dye or squirt colours on top like what I did here.

It was a success, considering its my first time doing any sewing and tie dying.
So here is the dress.

Three elastics are sewn at the waist.

I have also added an extra tint of red just to make it more interesting to look at.

Paired with Ash Lotus cutout booties in nauge, bought from shopbop.com. They are super comfy.

Close up of jewels, bangle from H&M, bracelet from Accessorize, beetle ring from Dior stacked with a ruby ring from my dad.

It was a very nice day to be wearing a maxi dress. I will prolly make one more in black too.

Some photography assignment

The other day I helped my friend with his photography assignment (oh how fun I wish I have courses like this). Weather that day was gloomy and grey, after multiple unsuccessful attempts, here are my favorite shots.

I look tiny in this.

I looked so tired, (and still, is very tired till this date)

groggy eyes

I love this photo.
