Fall 2010 Trend: Leather Trousers

LEATHER. Leather trousers (or leather pants) are no longer limited to rock n' roll. With fall 2010 updates they can be relaxed, romantic, nostalgic, utilitarian... and the list goes on.

BURNT SIENNA. Try leather trousers in reddish brown for a bit of blithe nostalgia. (Top and bottom) Ralph Lauren Blue Label Leather Pants from Saks and Wax Effect Leather Shorts from Zara. I know this post is for leather trousers, but I came across some amazing leather shorts that I really want to include. =)

RELAXED FIT. They don't necessarily need to be tight fitted skinnies, slouchy slightly harem styles are really chic too. (From left to right) Cheap Monday Faux Leather Trouser from ASOS, Davi Leather Pants and Davi s Leath Shorts both from Acne.

MOTORCYCLE & BIKER. What is grungy chic without leather trousers? (Left to right) 1971 Reiss Gael Leather Motorcycle Pant from ASOS and ASKET Leather Biker Trousers from Ted Baker.

PANELED. Add a pinch of zing with paneling, structural + black leather screams Gareth Pugh to me. (Left to right) Superfine Swirl mid-rise stretch-denim and leather jeans from Net-a-porter and Helmut Lang Jersey and Leather Combo Leggings from Shopbop.

BASIC SKINNIES. Be inspired by Olivia Palermo with basic leather skinnies, from what I gather hers are from Daryl K(Left to right) True Religion Stella Leather Pants and Helmut Lang Skinny Leather Pants from Shopbop.

Fall 2010 Trend: Maxi Skirts

MAXI SKIRTS. Skirt length has grown, again. I am all for maxi dresses in the summer, and so ready to try maxi skirts this fall. (I have been looking for a lace velvety one with a certain vibe of nostalgia, hm hard to find eh?) Actually this sudden thought just hit me, no one knows if its a maxi skirt or maxi dress if you wear it underneath a sweater right? Anyways there are lots of styles brought into play, for starters they will look great with baggy and oversized sweaters. Don't you just love how fluid they are?

PLEATS, RUFFLES AND FRILLS. (Left to rightASOS BLACK Laser Cut Petal Maxi Skirt, I think it's more like origami than petals, loves it. Long Pleated Skirt in light green and Long Skirt with Frills in grey both from Zara.

PRINTS. (From top) Premium Floral Frill Skirt from Topshop, pretty similar to the RL one; Rachel Pally Long Full Skirt from Shopbop.

PLAY ON MATERIALS. (Left to right) Lace Maxi Skirt F21; Minkpink Crushed Velvet Maxi Skirt from ASOS, that ensemble looks great by the way; Opening Ceremony Silk Overlay Skirt in navy, an alternative from all that leg covering.

Go further with Faux Fur Part II

Lets face it, not all of us live in a place with all four seasons, for some there might be two, but what about those living in the desert? Well I'm not sure about the desert but the seasons in Hong Kong are definitely blurred. Whether its mohair or acrylic they will just get hotter than this hot trend. So when the weather is just too unfortunate for sporting faux fur jackets and coats, do try accessories and the occasional faux fur collar might just be as chic.
