I do have an embargo on down coats, except for those in disguise. Down outerwear is the warmest thing ever, without the need to look like a wild life creature. But I just can’t get myself to like all that Bibendum – more commonly known as the Michellin Man – silhouette. Rick Owens coats are of the rare breed, such slimming effects (courtesy of the skinny leather sleeves) yet so warm at the same time. Most down outerwear just doesn’t come as edgy as this, Moncler Gamme Bleu/ Rouge as an exception, obviously. And no, the Moncler main line is just puffy pomposity blowing out of proportions. Really.

AW13 Trend: Pink Coats

Fifty Shades of... Pink. With every fashion magazine telling us to think pink this season, inevitably this idea is planted in our heads. While maxi, mannish, ankle-grazing coats lead the way this season, pink coats slowly crept into our minds, subconsciously reminding us if we go for a rather adventurous outerwear colour, pink should be it. Even the Marks & Spencer blushed pink coat was sold out before it hit the stores.

I have been contemplating about this. Pink coats are certainly a joy to look at, however once you get down to business – literally or figuratively – pink coats seem out of place. Unless you are Alexa Chung or a child, a pink coat would be rather difficult to fit into your wardrobe.

Undeniably, pink coats are delightful. After all, who can forget about that endearing pink coat from the Raf Simons final Jil Sander collection? While models clutched the coats we clutched our hearts. To buy or not to buy, I still had fun looking at all these gorgeous outerwear in a colour none other than the rosy, blushed, feminine pink.

What's not to love?

I love everything about this city  fashionwise, foodwise, lifestylewise. There are way too many ways for me to count. The weather has been amazing for quite a while for London's standards, I would feel like a caged animal if I hadn't gone out every single day.

The other day I was walking around in Topshop and found this Meadham Kirchhoff for the Topshop NEWGEN T-shirt collection still in stock. Initially I thought it was out of stock everywhere, what a pleasant surprise. As much as I hated crew neck T-shirts I bought it in a second (and then cut it into a boat neck) because there's a special meaning for me. I have been enjoying so much of my time in London that I want to collect everything that signifies this piece of memory. (One of the reasons being I don't think I would be able to stay in this lovable city after I graduate.) Meadham Kirchhoff is one of the designers that is represented by Black Frame, the fashion pr firm that I am interning for. It has been an amazing experience to work in the fashion show and look to at their collection so closely.

Here is more from another place that I would miss – Borough Market.

My favorite things all in one place – good coffee, fresh clams and cheese (whichever kind).

In layers

This is what I wear to survive 0°C London just to avoid any kind of down coats or jackets. Here I have 5 layers. Long sleeved knit, cashmere vest, wool cardigan, cashmere hoodie (wearing it almost every single day) and wool coat. Because I was so wrapped up like a snowman, I managed to walk out with a just silk scarf for a bit of color.

A bit of green and a bit of sadness...

HM. These are the days when I would stare at my phone blankly hoping the message signal would light up, and then showing a face of disappointment after reading it because the sender was not the one I wanted. Yes, it is the 'can't eat can't sleep syndrome' that I am going through, hopefully it will be over soon.

Green lace

GREEN LACE. Military green in lace, a safe choice to avoid looking like you are wearing lingerie, especially when not sporting the lingerie as outerwear trend. (There's supposed to be some detail at the top, turns out I was fooled by the Topshop website)

Earthy Ruffles

RUFFLES. I knew I had to have this earth toned rufflely vest when I saw it in the H&M advert. It was layered perfectly with an aviator jacket in the ad, but I guess it should work as well for now. (Please do excuse my all wrinkly tank.)

Ring haul

These days I am totally into rings, hm actually maybe I have always been into rings. Wearing something on my fingers is like an everyday habit of mine. So here are the rings that I bought recently:

Both from Accessorize, these rings are the smallest size but doesn't really fit me, so I would wear them with a smaller ring to prevent them from falling off or just wearing them on my thumb.

And from Aldo. They actually carry rings that fits me which is really good news. Their rings are pretty nice too, but I didn't want to buy too much in one go so I chose these two. The double ring on the right is just gorgeous.

Here I am wearing one of the Aldo rings with a Dior bug ring stacked with a ring from my grandmother because Dior doesn't carry my ring size anymore (BUT they carry really pretty rings so I still buy them).

Here is the Aldo double ring with the silvering from Accessorize and my old and battered Tiffany Lock ring. They all go pretty well together eh?

I thought all those colours would match this huge ring from Celine.

And then there's also this large pearl ring from Topshop and the new 'I love you' ring which i got with the bf from Tiffany (love love ♥) I wear this most of the time nowadays.

And thats about it for new rings, now last but not least its summer time...
...which also means salad time!
