Go further with Faux Fur Part I

Vrai ou faux? This year say good bye to real animal fur, because it's all about being environmentally friendly. Salut! to the eco-friendly faux fur!

Faux fur is no fashion faux pas, used extensively in Chanel Fall 2010, a lot of brands and designers are trying to faux fur as vrai as the real thing. This hot trend comes in all sorts such as vests, coats, scarves, hats, shoes, collars, snoods and the list can go on. Point is, with faux fur brought into play as plush and fluffy as the real deal, we can enjoy the same amount of luxe and opulence without the price tag and be ecofriendly at the same time. (Less guilt when you get multiple items too!)

This furrytale is starting to get quite fabulous isn't it.

Vests & Gilets: If full on fur is too much for you, or the weather just leaves you no choice, a vest or a gilet of faux fur can still add a bit of fuzzy fun to your outfit.
From top: Lipsy Faux Fur Belted Gilet and BB Dakota Potter Vest.

Wild Animal: Pull off the animal print motif with faux fur in coats, jackets, or vests.
From left to right, Disguise in this semi-metallic leopard print Jacquard coat with a removable faux fur collar from Rachel Roy; Feathery splendor Chris Flutter Front Fur Vest and zebra frenzy Alandora Faux Fur Shawl Collar Jacket, both Alice + Olivia.

Teddy bear: This teddy bear fur trend is not only good to look at but soft to touch too. Mix in a dab brownish nostalgia with this Faux Fur Crombie Coat  or just delightful furriness with this Petite Faux Fur Hooded Gilet, also from Topshop and Unique.

Knitwear: Faux fur mixed in with knits are an alternative to all those coats and jackets. I have been seeing a lot of faux fur knits from Zara, similar to this Ricci Knitted Coat (very Louis Vuitton Fall 2010) and this Knitted Faux Fur Coatigan (what an inventive name!) from Topshop, with mesmerizing cable knit details at the back.

Oversized collar: From time to time less is more, pair this Faux Fur Collar Pea Coat from Topshop with brogues and pleated skirts for a scholastic edge.
