Stella McCartney Fall 2010 Campaign

Following the Stella McCartney Fall 2010 RTW collection i mentioned previously, this is the Stella McCartney Fall 2010 campaign, featuring Natalia Vodianova. Nothing fancy or over the top, just simply chic. The tailored collection is shown with a clean backdrop and with the Stella McCartney logo. The logo is decorated with cartoons which adds mischievous touch.

Doesn't she look stunning? A mother of three.

Fall 2010 Footwear Trend: Bows

This fall, apart from the slightly masculine heeled loafers, we will also see a lot femininity in footwear. The bow trend is found on the Fall 2010 RTW catwalks. I have high lighted two major brands sporting this trend.

Firstly we have Louis Vuitton which presents the bow trend through clean, polished heels in various materials such as satin, ostrich leather, crocodile leather etc. The pumps are made more intriguing by using contrast colours on the heel as well as sparkley diamonds for a tone on tone effect. We can see that this fall footwear is not limited to dark and cold colours but also pastel, feminine colourways.

Next here is Miu Miu. While Prada is sporting the heeled loafers trend, we have here the bow trend. Multiple ornament like bows and florals are found on these Miu Miu pumps. There is an occasional shoe accessory on top of the pump which works well like a bootie. Again their footwear is not limited to dark colours and also uses pastels.

Lipstick

I never really wear lipstick coz somehow I heard it makes your lips go dark (and I wouldn't want that), and also coz (obviously) I'm just too lazy to do it. Usually I'd stick to lip glosses, the Cremesheen Glass from MAC are my current favorite.

Anyway back to the lipsticks. If I'd put on lipstick (which I usually don't) I'd put on Bell de Jour from NARS. It is the sheer type of lipstick in a nude shade and from the website it says "translucent formula to provide a sheer, natural tint". This is one of my favorite lipsticks (I have a lot although I don't use them that much). Its moisturizing and doesn't show a lot of cakey lines, pigmentation is good, don't expect it to cover your lip colour, it just tunes my lip to a lighter shade and becomes a natural nude.

In these photos I haven't put on any lip primer or lip liner other than lip balm under Belle du Jour. So the pigmentation is pretty good considering. I believe this colour does work great if you're going for a more natural nude shade.

Belle du Jour is French, meaning lots of things I guess some erotic and some not. It can be 'beautiful day' or 'morning glory' or maybe 'beauty of the day', although 'daylight beauty' in French is une belle du jour to be exact (but that might mean prostitute during daytime). Excusez-moi, my French is not too polished. haha

Nudity

The Stella McCartney F/W 2010 collection is absolutely gorgeous. It is the usual minimalistic with an edge, and totally wearable. However the use of nudes in this collection are particularly inspiring.

Simple, sheer and sleek.
The 'nudity' is just right, not over the top but just enough to score. The use of sequins and browns is brilliant to decorate and tone down the nudes, cherry on the top.

Nude not an easy colour to wear. However if it is worn correctly, the whole look would be upgraded instantly, spelling classy and fabulous.

Tips for wearing nudes:
  1. There are so many different shades of nude, not every single shade is flattering for everyone. Lighter shades of nudes or those with hints of pink would be safe.
  2. Not every body shape is suitable for nudes. Try simpler pieces like a tank or tee shirt.
Outfit 1: Work
Top - T by Alexander Wang, Pants - Acne, Sandal - Elizabeth and James, Clutch - Alexander Wang, Necklace & earring set - Corinda's, Dragon Fly Ring - Lucky Brand, Leaf Ring - Yunus and Eliza

This is a more formal outfit accesorized with chucky rings and necklaces (love chunky, can never go wrong with chunky). The top is black and midriff bearing to emphasis on the nude pants and adds a carelessly sexy touch.

Outfit 2: Holiday
Top - Miss Selfridge, Denim shorts - True Religion, Thong sandals - Tory Burch, Bangles - Cara Accessories, Earrings - Yang 23 Vintage, Cashmere scarf - Faliero Sarti, Satchel - Proenza Schouler

A holiday look is completed with a loose nude top, cut out shorts, flip flops and cashmere (a travel must). A touch of glamour is added with the PS1 satchel and vintage earrings.

Outfit 3: Going out

Tank - DVF, Leggings - any cotton leggings to the ankle would do, Booty - Hypnotic, Duffle bag - Asos, Bracelet set - Kirra, Ring - Avalaya, Drink me necklace - Start London

The nude tank and leggings are perfect for going out. The Balmain look-a-like booties adds an edge to the whole outfit. Adding the finishing touches of accessories then off you go!

Turquoise

Jersey T Dress American Apparel, vintage belt Midwest, and hobo bag Marc Jacobs.

A one piece dress is always easy to work with, especially when you are in a rush to work. I bought this jersey dress ages ago, I don't wear it much because it's in such a bright colour which I think would put some extra pounds on me. (Ironically it was this colour which made me buy it in the first place, because my wardrobe mainly consisted of blacks, whites, navys and greys). Anyway, I am going to wear it more often now, it doesn't look so bad after all does it?

I found the lovely belt from a vintage store in Hong Kong, Midwest. They are located in Tin Hau, it's quite far from the Tin Hau station, but it's totally worth the visit. They have in store lots of mens and womens vintage clothes (obviously) and vintage accessories. They would also cut up and redesign clothes, for example turning a mens french terry polo into a tube dress. I really like this belt that I found, it's a dirty white with little metal beads all around it which adds a lot of character. And the blue stone is just gorgeous. (♥ love love)

The Marc Jacobs bag is from I-don't-know-how-many seasons ago, it did appear on the Devil Wears Prada though.

Thats about it guys. Sorry about the flowers in the background, I thought it had way too much white to it so I just had to add something. Now it looks very  summery and Hawaiian with the yellow and the flowers lol.

Ring haul

These days I am totally into rings, hm actually maybe I have always been into rings. Wearing something on my fingers is like an everyday habit of mine. So here are the rings that I bought recently:

Both from Accessorize, these rings are the smallest size but doesn't really fit me, so I would wear them with a smaller ring to prevent them from falling off or just wearing them on my thumb.

And from Aldo. They actually carry rings that fits me which is really good news. Their rings are pretty nice too, but I didn't want to buy too much in one go so I chose these two. The double ring on the right is just gorgeous.

Here I am wearing one of the Aldo rings with a Dior bug ring stacked with a ring from my grandmother because Dior doesn't carry my ring size anymore (BUT they carry really pretty rings so I still buy them).

Here is the Aldo double ring with the silvering from Accessorize and my old and battered Tiffany Lock ring. They all go pretty well together eh?

I thought all those colours would match this huge ring from Celine.

And then there's also this large pearl ring from Topshop and the new 'I love you' ring which i got with the bf from Tiffany (love love ♥) I wear this most of the time nowadays.

And thats about it for new rings, now last but not least its summer time...
...which also means salad time!

Topshop new S/S collection

The other day while I was browsing through Topshop.com, I came across their new Rough Diamond collection. The name gives a cute yet sexy vibe. Who knew hearts and leopards can mix? I think these prints will make an easy transition into fall. Here are my favorites:

Zara sale

No work today, so went shopping. I spotted Zara was finally on sale so went in for a stroll. Well I didnt have targets, but quickly decided on this pair of heels.

They're pretty high but with soft insoles and platforms so it should be ok. Obviously power walking in these is a no-no.

Nice bargain.
